How do I check signal strength when installing a Hive Radiator Valve?
If you are trying to install a Hive Radiator Valve but it’s not showing up in the "device pairing" screen in the app, try these steps:
1. Temporarily take your Radiator Valve (TRV) off the radiator and take it close to your hub (read more here).
2. Take one battery out of your Radiator Valve (TRV) and put it in again. Your Radiator Valve (TRV) will restart. Now try to pair your Radiator Valve (TRV) to your hub again.
3. Once your Radiator Valve (TRV) is showing in the app, check that the screen is showing an "M". If the screen shows a temperature, hold down the button below the screen for 3 seconds.
4. Now re-attach your Radiator Valve (TRV) to the radiator.
If your Radiator Valve (TRV) does not stay online once installed, it may be that the radiator is too far away from your Hive Hub to work correctly. You might need to move your hub or add a Hive Signal Booster to help your Hive devices stay online reliably.
