At Hive, we’ve got big plans to make homes more energy efficient and cheaper to run. So we’ve made the tough decision to discontinue our smart security and leak detection products – and develop smart home tech that’ll get us closer to Net Zero.

How can I upgrade to the Nano 2 hub?

(If you have British Gas HomeCare cover, please contact us directly as we may be able to provide further discount.)
What are the benefits of the new Nano 2 hub?
The Nano 2 hub supports products and features that aren’t compatible with the Nano 1, including:
Hive Mini Thermostat
Hive Hard Wired Thermostat
Hive Multizone
Hive Radiator Valves
Hive Heating Plus
This list will increase over time as we develop new innovative and sustainable products.
What will I have to do when my new hub arrives?
Depending on routers, some yellow ports on some router models could be a WAN or 2.5gbps port which the hub doesn’t work with.
This user-friendly guide will walk you through the process of setting up your new hub and transferring settings/devices from your Nano 1 hub.
Setting up the Nano 2 Hub:
Unbox your Nano 2 hub and locate the supplied plug and ethernet cable.
Plug the Nano 2 hub into a power socket using the provided plug.
Connect the hub to your router by connecting one end of the ethernet cable to the hub and the other end to an available yellow port on your router.
Power on the Nano 2 hub and ensure it is properly connected to the internet.
Wait for the hub to complete its initial setup and establish a connection, which may take a few moments.
The hub will then begin a process of upgrading and may take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
Once the upgrade has completed your hub will stop flashing green and change a solid green to indicate that it is online.
Once your hub has changed to solid green, please follow the link here for steps to upgrade. Nano1 shutdown: Steps to upgrade
