Your team will come to carry out the installation for you, including solar panels and other equipment.

Manage with the app
Your installation team will show you how to use your Hive app to get the best from your new solar equipment.
Introducing your solar installers
Hive doesn’t install your solar equipment. We introduce you to one of two approved installers who take care of everything to do with installation.⁵
In England and Wales, we’ve teamed up with the leading solar installer, Effective Home, to make sure you get the best installation possible. For 15+ years they’ve been providing reliable and advanced solar energy systems at affordable prices.
In Scotland, we work with Forster Group – one of the country’s largest solar installers. They currently install solar products to one in five of Scotland’s new homes.

How Hive Solar works
We’re on a journey to zero emissions

Based on a medium-demand (2,700 kWh) property in London, with south-facing 10 panel 4kW arrays and a battery providing 35% of the home’s electricity needs. Excess daytime energy is sold back to the grid at 15p per kWh using the British Gas ‘Export & Earn Plus’ SEG tariff. Customer also receives ‘Hive Solar Saver’ discount of 25% on electricity unit rate in first year. Typical bill calculated using national average April 24 price cap rates. Actual savings will depend on location, installation, aspect, and electricity use.

Hive Solar Saver offer is available to Hive solar and/or battery installations purchased between 22nd May and 31st September 2024. 25% discount applies for 12 months. Discount excludes standing charge. For time of use tariffs discount applies to peak rate consumption only. Must be new energy platform, direct debit, customer. This price is based on purchasing a 10-panel system, 400W panels with Effective Home. Fitting to concrete tiles (not slate), single elevation of scaffold, with single phase electrics and no complexities. The full cash price for this system is £6,355 which excludes battery.

For both solar & battery, the price is £9,995 with Effective Home. This price is based on purchasing a 10 panel system, 400W premium panels and a 5.32kWh solar battery. Price includes full system and install.
