How can we help you?
Can I install a Hive Radiator Valve in my bathroom?
Yes, you can install a Hive Radiator Valve in your bathroom so long as it is not in a position where it will get wet. Hive Radiator Valves are not waterproof and should never be submerged in water or installed in a location where they are likely to get splashed.
The Hive Radiator Valve has an IP20 rating, meaning that it can be installed in a bathroom, kitchen or other room containing water outlets so long as it is not within IP Zones 0-2, as defined by the IEE Wiring Regulations (regulation 701.32 of BS7671). Broadly speaking this means not installing within 60cm of a bath, sink or water tap, or within 1.2m of any shower that does not have a shower tray.
Hive Radiator Valves will work fine on heated towel rails so long as they are controlled by compatible thermostatic valve bodies. Hive Radiator Valves are not compatible with electric towel rails.
